This grueling 70-mile cycle ride commenced in Arbroath and took participants through picturesque yet challenging routes, including Forfar, Kirriemuir, Menmuir, and Edzell, before returning to Arbroath.
Reflecting on his experience, Kevin shared, “This year’s ride was brutal, but I was really pleased to have taken it on, completing in the same day as I started! TeamJak is a charity which is very close to our hearts – we have been supporting them for some time now. Mike Charles: Conquering the Coast-to-Coast Challenge
In September, Mike Charles took on the formidable Rat Race Coast to Coast 2024, a one-day adventure that required participants to run, cycle, and kayak across 100 miles of the Scottish Highlands. Starting in Nairn and culminating at Ballachulish, the race presented Mike with the challenge of running 21 miles, cycling 78 miles, and kayaking one mile through some of Scotland’s most rugged terrain.
Mike, who had trained extensively for this event, described his experience as both terrifying and exhilarating. “Being part of the event was terrifying but fantastic. There was a great sense of camaraderie which carried you through the day. It was hard work, and the conditions were far from perfect but worth every moment. Thanks to everyone who sponsored both Kev and I – it’s very much appreciated, and it all goes to a great cause.” His words encapsulate the spirit of perseverance and community that defines both the race and the mission of TeamJak.
